Hier, le Sundance Institute a révélé les lauréat.e.s de son programme Art of Nonfiction. Parmi ceux-ci et celles-ci, un duo d’artistes-chercheur.e.s composé de la doctorante SACRe Chloé Galibert-Laîné* et de Kevin B. Lee.
Pour Tabitha Jackson, directrice du Documentary Film Program, la sélection de cette année reflète un désir d’explorer l’espace de l’entre-deux : “The space between art and film, between photography and moving image, between poetry and social justice, between artist and audience.”
Le duo Kevin B. Lee et Chloé Galibert-Laîné, déjà lauréat des résidences de l’European Media Art Platform, est présenté par Sundance comme « a team of videographic essayists developing a collaborative practice that combines filmmaking and media research. Their work explores contemporary audiovisual media through online, amateur and found footage contexts in relation to the politics of authority, self- expression, and the histories and theories of cinema ». En 2017, leur collaboration a notamment été marquée par l’organisation d’une conférence à l’ENS, intitulée « Post-Cinema and The Future of Digital Images » et disponible en vidéo ici.
