The Circulation of Images
Online International Conference
If the discipline of art history has been studying the circulations of artists and artworks for many years, studying the circulation of images raises more difficulties. This conference invites artists (among them Silvie Defraoui, Hippolyte Hentgen, Jean-Baptiste Lenglet et Matt Mullican, etc.)art historians, and historians, as well as specialists of artificial vision and cognitive studies, to highlight what circulations do to images, and what images do when they circulate. It will take place online on the Imago Center website (www.imago.ens.fr), on June 15, 16, 17 and 18 2020. It is organized with the support of the Jean Monnet IMAGO Center of Excellence (www.imago.ens.fr) fund by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union, by the Ecole normale supérieure in Paris and its Département d’Histoire et théorie des arts (www.dhta.ens.fr), in partnership with the Chair of Digital Humanities at the University of Geneva (dh.unige.ch), with Purdue University, and the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
